Revitalizing Communities...

Project Amani web logo_edited.jpg

Communities across America are faced with more incidents of violence, fear and PTSD from experiences that have redefined what safe means to our families.  Think ReHemption is committed to empowering our communities through youth enrichment, education and family engagement.  Project Amani is a customized initiative aimed at helping the Peoria/Central Illinois area with 2-zip codes (61603/61605) that they identify as the most violent in that area.  Learn more about the approach and how our team has a solution to a challenge many communities face:

Rainbow Beach Project

Rainbow Beach is located on the Southeast side of Chicago with breathtaking views of the city skyline.  Creating a safe space for youth to engage in mentoring and fitness programs was a challenge for the community.  Our partnership with Evolution Sports Academy helps us implement a unique fitness program for youth combined with exposure to an enrichment/mentoring program.  A quick way to learn more about the $1.5M grant received-click the video link below and at the 14-minute mark, you can find out WHY.

Restoring the Black Legacy...

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Pigford v. Glickman (Pigford 1) class action racial discrimination lawsuit filed by Black farmers against the USDA.  We still struggle to get restorative justice for them that includes debt cancellation.  Think ReHemption advocates for the equitable inclusion and restoration of our Black Legacy Farmers via our Revitalization of Crops, Community and Climate Smart Practices grant submission to the USDA.  Engaging plans and partnerships with leaders in the industry to help restore our legacy farmers gain economic growth is another innovative initiative supported by Think ReHemption.

Think ReHemption works closely with other climate conscious influencers and those that advocate for the equitable inclusion of small producers.  Our partnership with Patrick Brown, an industry leader and Industrial Hemp producer, helps Think ReHemption provide expert guidance.  The technical support from one of the best examples of climate smart conversion in action makes an impact on those making the conversion.  Patrick is a firm believer in making a way for the next generation of agriculture enthusiasts and his support helps us build better opportunity for the young and rising farmers of the next generation.
