Rainbow Beach Racquets & Renovations!

​Announced on her second anniversary in office, Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot launched
the Chicago Works Community Challenge to provide an opportunity for all
Chicago residents to tell the City what infrastructure investments they want to
see prioritized in their neighborhoods. Through a robust community engagement
process, the unprecedented $10 million competition found the best public works
projects in each of Chicago’s seven planning regions, with a focus on Parks,
Schools and Libraries properties.
Evolution Sports Academy, our community partner, received a $1.5 Million grant
for the SOUTHEAST Region at Rainbow Beach Park for Renovations to Improve
the racquetball/handball courts that host youth and community programs.
Additional programs will include highlighting the Negro Baseball League on the
southside of Chicago.
